Mr. Faragher is a Nelson based cellist with a rich and diverse background in performing. This is the first of what he hopes to make many tours throughout the Kootenays. It is Jeff’s hope to enrich communities in his area by collaborating with local musicians and organizations throughout the Kootenays to present interesting and entertaining musical experiences.
The program will include JS Bach’s Solo Suite in C Major, G. Crumb’s Solo Sonata, JS Bach’s Solo Suite in G Major, G. Cassado’s Solo Suite, M. Summer’s Juli-O, J. Tavener’s Threnos and other selections. The program will include a presentation interspersed between the pieces. The audience will hear about different elements of the works from their historical significance to the way they have helped shape the cello and it’s repertoire. Jeff presents this material in such a way that the audience is drawn into the performance making it about far more than just the strings and the bow.
