501 Carbonate Street, Nelson, BC V1L 4P4, Canada
For the Woman’s Day, bring your wife and your mom to Paris.
AFKO is hosting its second French Extra Market on March 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the old Anglican Church Hall on the corner of Ward and Carbonate streets.
This year, while your kid is building a cardboard Eiffel tower, you can enjoy a “café croissant” listening to a beautiful French ballad played by Catherine McGrath on the accordion. You could also shop at “La rue des Artisans” and stop for a picture on the bridge in front of “L’Église Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre.”
Come and hang out: films, full meal, art, buskers, chess table, affordable, fun and beautiful…
“We want to have something for everyone,” said Lyne Chartier , director of AFKO. “We’re really hoping it won’t just be our francophone community that comes out, but also the English-speaking people and families in Nelson who want to experience something different.
The French Extra is part of the Canadian-wide week “Les Rendez-vous de la Francophonie” held in March every year. The local event is sponsored by Grounded Café and Heritage Canada.
Admission to the French Extra Market is by donation.
