Jackie Treehorn with Almanak

Jackie Treehorn is a funkadelic/soultastic/rockaphonic seven-piece sound-storm based in Vancouver, B.C, and they are coming to Nelson to join forces with local rockers Almanak to deliver a live music extravaganza!

Lapslide and keys (Adam Kerby), sax (Lorick Russow), vocals (Ashley Robyn Slater, Chelsea Burden), bass (Nick Nixon), guitar (Kevin Sanders), and drums (Derek Van Deursen), bring a lot of whallop to your earholes. The band squeezes all seven members for material, making the mix truly eclectic and exciting. With songs ranging from rock-gospel anthems in which your friends are the object of worship, to straight up songs of funky conquest where the brain is the thang that turns you on, its a great big mix bag
of feel-good for 2011. Modern ideas to classic grooves: that’s the JTH way.

Returning to the stage at The Royal, the Queen City’s very own prog rock juggernaut, ALMANAK. Nelson From Nelson (vocals/ guitar), Malik Mourah ( drums), Ryan Hagen (bass), & Kevin Welch (lead guitar/ keys) combine to bring you epic songs with grandiose arrangements. Through the ears they enter your mind, twisting and turning it with an array of effect pedals and sonic alchemy! They plan to debut a couple of new songs just for this show….don’t miss it!

Showtime 9pm.
