This is your opportunity to sit down with popcorn and juice to see a large-screen, full-length documentary. The Nelson Refugee Committee brings you the documentary “Obachan’s Garden.” This movie won four awards: “Most popular Canadian film,” “Best documentary,” “Best sound,” and Vancouver’s “VFCC award.” Slowly, layer by layer, filmmaker Linda Ohama reveals Asayo Murakami’s past, including her arrival in Vancouver, the bombing of Hiroshima and the family’s forced relocation during WW II.
