Geraldine Thomas Flurer, the communications coordinator for the First Nations Yinka Dene Alliance is coming to a special event in Nelson to talk about opposition to bitumen pipelines in BC.

Brian Rosen, and other local musicians will also be taking the stage at the event.

Further speakers will be announced shortly.

Tickets for the event will be a $15, just $5 for youth & students.

Kootenays for a Pipeline-Free BC is putting on the event to build opposition to the proposed Enbridge and Kinder Morgan bitumen pipeline projects. The federal government said recently it will announce its decision on the Enbridge Northern Gateway project in June. The proposed expansion of the Kinder Morgan bitumen pipeline to Burnaby is just beginning the hearing process at the National Energy Board.
